Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, Oct. 14, in the biggest result of Champions League Matchday 2, while Real Madrid produced the comeback of the night in Rome.

PSG led 3-0 at half time. Desire Doue opened the scoring in the 13th minute, Ousmane Dembele headed the second minutes later, and Vitinha drove in the third from the edge of the box before the break. Maghnes Akliouche made it 4-1 in the second half. Erling Haaland scored twice for City after half time, taking his Champions League tally to 61 goals in 60 games, but the fightback fell short.

Real Madrid turn 3-1 down into 4-3 in Rome

Roma led through Marten de Roon, Kylian Mbappe levelled within minutes, and Donyell Malen scored twice to put Roma 3-1 up. Madrid then scored three goals in eight minutes late on. Antonio Rudiger got the winner as Jose Mourinho's side completed a 4-3 win at the Stadio Olimpico.

Nine goals in Linz, six for Villa

Liverpool won 6-3 at LASK Linz in the early kickoff. Bradley Barcola scored a hat trick, and Ronald Araujo, Jeremie Frimpong, and Lewis Koumas also scored for Liverpool. Florian Flecker scored twice for LASK and Robert Ljubicic added the third. Aston Villa beat Fenerbahce 6-0 at Villa Park, with doubles from Nicolas Jackson and Ross Barkley and a birthday goal for Yohan Manzambi.
