Champions League results do not come much louder than this. Atletico Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0 at the Metropolitano, Barcelona scored four in Istanbul, Club Brugge won a seven-goal game at San Siro, and Viking, in their first home game at this level, drew 3-3 with Bayern Munich.

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Manchester United

United were behind before some fans had sat down. Inside the first minute, Julian Alvarez played the ball over the top, Alex Baena raced onto it and squared for Pablo Barrios, whose side-footed finish went in with the help of a deflection.

Atletico thought they had a second before half time. Johnny Cardoso fired in from the edge of the area, but the referee went to the monitor and ruled it out, finding a handball by Marcos Llorente in the build-up.

United pushed. Bryan Mbeumo went close and Jan Oblak beat away his shot. The game turned for good when Leny Yoro, the last man, brought down Jonathan David and was sent off after a VAR check. On 79 minutes, Senne Lammens saved David's shot but could only push it into the path of Ademola Lookman, who tapped in the second.

United stay on three points, taken from their 4-0 win over Sabah on matchday one. Atletico, beaten at Liverpool in their opener, collect their first points. The pressure on United manager Michael Carrick grows after a poor display at Tottenham on Saturday.

Galatasaray 1-4 Barcelona

Istanbul got the start it wanted. On 28 minutes, Rafael Leao burst away and cut the ball across, and Aleksey Batrakov slotted in the finish for 1-0. Victor Osimhen then headed in a second, but it was ruled out for offside.

Barcelona levelled two minutes before the break, Joao Cancelo hammering in the equalizer from Dani Olmo's pass. Eight minutes after half time, the game was gone. Fermin Lopez headed in a Lamine Yamal cross on 50 minutes. Three minutes later, Yamal set up Anthony Gordon for the third. Substitute Karim Adeyemi added the fourth on 65 minutes, finishing a Gabriel Jesus pass.

Barcelona have six points and ten goals from two games. Galatasaray have lost both of theirs.

Inter 3-4 Club Brugge

The game of the night was at San Siro. Nicolo Tresoldi put Brugge ahead from the penalty spot on 30 minutes. Lautaro Martinez levelled on 44, but Tresoldi scored again on 63 and completed his hat trick on 74, turning in the rebound after Josep Martinez parried a Carlos Forbs shot.

Inter kept coming. Lautaro scored his second on 81 minutes to make it 3-2, but Romeo Vermant, who had replaced Tresoldi, restored the two-goal gap on 87. Ange-Yoan Bonny pulled one back in the third minute of added time, and after that the final whistle saved Brugge.

Inter have lost both of their games, after a 2-1 defeat at Real Madrid. Brugge, beaten by Aston Villa in their opener, take their first points.

Viking 3-3 Bayern Munich

Viking led inside two minutes in Stavanger. Zlatko Tripic swung in a corner and Gianni Stensness guided his header low past Jonas Urbig. On 38 minutes, Viking won the ball in their own penalty area and countered in seconds, Peter Christiansen finishing the move for 2-0.

Bayern made three changes at half time and took over. Harry Kane scored a penalty on 54 minutes, awarded after a VAR review for a foul on Konrad Laimer. On the hour, Kane peeled off his marker and headed in Joshua Kimmich's cross to level. Luis Diaz put Bayern in front on 72 minutes, finishing a move he had started.

Then the game flipped again. Michael Olise was sent off, shown two yellow cards in quick succession, the second for dissent. With the clock at 90 minutes, Tripic clipped a cross to the far post and Herman Haugen headed the equalizer.

Afterwards, Kane said: "Our mistakes were punished. On another day, we win this game and score five or six goals."

Arsenal 3-0 Lille

For 64 minutes, Arsenal got nowhere at the Emirates. Lille even had the ball in the net, only for Ayase Ueda's finish to be ruled offside.

Then three goals in seven minutes settled it. Jurrien Timber took Noni Madueke's pass inside the area, drove away from a defender and clipped in the opener on 64 minutes. Bukayo Saka, just off the bench, set up Eberechi Eze for the second on 67. Saka scored the third himself on 71.

Arsenal have two wins from two. Lille have none, and stay on zero points.

Villarreal 3-1 Napoli

Napoli scored first, Amir Rrahmani firing in his own rebound on eight minutes. Villarreal answered fast. Georges Mikautadze levelled on 23, and three minutes later Santiago Mourino rifled a strike into the top corner from 25 yards. Substitute Tani Oluwaseyi finished it on 86 minutes, set up by Ayoze Perez.

Villarreal take their first points of the campaign. Napoli, like Inter, have lost both games.

RB Leipzig 1-0 PSV Eindhoven

One save and one goal decided it in Leipzig. PSV won a penalty on 16 minutes, but Maarten Vandevoordt saved Ivan Perisic's kick with his legs. Brajan Gruda scored the only goal on 75 minutes.

Leipzig bounce back from their 4-1 defeat at Como. PSV stay on one point.

Early kick-offs: Sporting stay perfect, Sabah make history

Sporting CP won 2-0 at Lens. Luis Suarez scored on 22 minutes from Nestory Irankunda's cross, and Issa Doumbia added the second on 74, the first Champions League goal of his career. Sporting have six points from six.

In Baku, Sabah beat Slavia Prague 2-0 for the first Champions League win in their history. Kaheem Parris had an early goal ruled offside, then scored the club's first goal in the competition on 49 minutes, sweeping in Ivan Lepinjica's cut-back. Joy-Lance Mickels added the second, and goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov made six saves. Slavia remain on zero points.

The teams placed ninth to 24th go into a playoff round.

The early trouble is in Italy. Inter and Napoli have lost both games and already need wins. Galatasaray, Lille and Slavia Prague are also pointless. Matchday three comes next week, and Barcelona travel to Paris Saint-Germain in the tie of the round.
