Nashville SC stayed unbeaten at home on Wednesday night but dropped points for only the second time in the 2026 MLS season, drawing the Philadelphia Union 0-0 at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee. The result put Nashville's attempt to break the MLS home victory record on hold, and it snapped a six-game home win streak.

Head coach BJ Callaghan rotated his side heavily after Nashville clinched the Supporters' Shield on Saturday in Montreal, making five changes to the starting lineup. Warren Madrigal made his first start since August 5, and Ahmed Qasem returned to the lineup for the first time since the international break.

Schwake delivers his 15th clean sheet

Goalkeeper Brian Schwake was the difference. He recorded his 15th clean sheet of the season, one short of the league record for a single season, and made the save of the night in the 71st minute, a kick save to deny substitute Ben Bender from close range. Nashville defender Jeisson Palacios also stood out at the back, and Reed Baker-Whiting headed a shot away from an open goal in the 60th minute after Schwake came off his line for a corner and did not reach it.

Nashville had its chances. Warren Madrigal forced Andre Blake into a strong save in the 66th minute before the offside flag went up on Sam Surridge. Hany Mukhtar had a shot blocked in the 75th minute on a cutback from Andy Najar, again with an offside flag raised. Maxwell Woledzi headed wide from a Palacios cross in the 80th minute, and Blake saved a Surridge header in the 88th minute.

The numbers showed an even, scoreless night. Nashville held 63 percent of possession and outshot Philadelphia 8-6, while Philadelphia posted the higher expected goals mark, 0.82 to 0.61. Nashville moved to 21-7-4 with 71 points.

Records still in reach

Nashville has won 14 of its 16 MLS home matches at Geodis Park this season. Its 44 points at home are the most by any team in a single MLS season. Philadelphia, meanwhile, clinched a place in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night, helped by Red Bull New York's loss to the New England Revolution.

Nashville closes its regular season home schedule on Sunday, November 1, against Red Bull New York at Geodis Park, when the club will celebrate the Supporters' Shield in front of its home fans. Nashville needs four more points from its last two matches, at home against New York and away at FC Cincinnati on Decision Day, to break the MLS single-season points record.
