Ospreay Retains in Clockwork Carnage as Dragunov Debuts at AEW WrestleDream

ORLANDO. Will Ospreay kept the AEW World Championship on Saturday night at Addition Financial Arena, winning the first Clockwork Carnage match with 3 points at AEW WrestleDream 2026. The WrestleDream card had 12 matches, with four on the Tailgate Brawl pre show.

Ospreay created the format himself. Two men started, a new entrant joined every three minutes, and pins or submissions eliminated men until all eight were in. Then came a 15 minute scoring phase: each pin or submission scored one point, and the highest total won.

The closing minutes were tight. Samoa Joe forced Ospreay to submit to the Coquina Clutch and pulled level at 2 points. Ospreay answered in the final seconds, pinning Adam Copeland with a Hidden Blade just before time expired for his third point and the win. The final scoreboard read Ospreay 3, Joe 2, Darby Allin 2, Copeland 2, Ricochet 1 and Kazuchika Okada 1. Konosuke Takeshita and Speedball Mike Bailey also entered and did not score.

Trios titles change hands

Hangman Adam Page and Brodido won the AEW World Trios Championship, beating Swerve Strickland and The New Level two falls to one. Kofi Kingston, billed as Kofi, pinned Bandido to take the first fall for the champions. Brody King and Bandido evened the match in the second fall, finishing Austin Creed with a leg assisted 450 splash. In the deciding fall, Bandido countered Strickland's Big Pressure into a rollup pin to take the titles and end a reign of 48 days. Afterward, Kofi and Creed handed over their belts. Strickland dropped his on the mat rather than hand it to Page.

Dragunov debuts in AEW

Former WWE star Ilja Dragunov made his AEW debut later in the night and is now officially All Elite. Renee Paquette introduced him after the Trios match. He came out in a suit to a metronome and his Soviet March theme, and he did not wrestle or speak. AEW president Tony Khan confirmed the signing on X the same night.

Dragunov was born in Russia and raised in Germany. He joined WWE in 2019 and worked in NXT UK and NXT before moving to the main roster in 2024. He held the NXT Championship and the United States Championship during that run. He left WWE in August 2026 when his contract expired. No first match has been announced for him yet.
