SSI November Payment Arrives October 30: No SSI Check in November

Key points

  • Supplemental Security Income recipients get their November payment on Friday, October 30, one day before the month starts.
  • SSI is normally paid on the first day of the month.
  • The same rule sets the rest of the year.

Supplemental Security Income recipients get their November payment on Friday, October 30, one day before the month starts. There will be no SSI deposit in November itself, and that is the calendar working as designed, not a cut and not a delay.

Why the November payment lands in October

SSI is normally paid on the first day of the month. November 1, 2026 is a Sunday, and under the Social Security Administration rule, when the first falls on a Saturday, Sunday or federal holiday, the payment goes out on the business day before. November's money therefore arrives on Friday, October 30. The regular October payment was issued on Thursday, October 1, so October holds two SSI deposits and November holds none.

The same rule sets the rest of the year. The December payment arrives on its normal date, Tuesday, December 1. The January 2027 payment arrives early, on Thursday, December 31, because January 1 is the New Year holiday. Anyone budgeting around SSI should treat the October 30 deposit as November's money: the gap from October 30 to the next deposit on December 1 runs 32 days.

Who receives SSI, and how Social Security differs

SSI is administered by the Social Security Administration and pays people with limited or no income and resources, people aged 65 or older, and people who are blind or have a qualifying disability, including children. About 7.3 million Americans receive monthly SSI payments, and about one third of them also receive Social Security benefits.

Regular Social Security retirement, survivor and disability payments follow a different calendar and do arrive in November. People who began receiving benefits before May 1997, and people who receive both Social Security and SSI, are paid on Tuesday, November 3. People born from the 1st to the 10th of a month are paid on Tuesday, November 10, one day early because Wednesday, November 11 is Veterans Day. People born from the 11th to the 20th are paid on Wednesday, November 18, and people born from the 21st to the 31st on Wednesday, November 25.
