The Nashville Predators beat the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, with Steven Stamkos and Ryan O'Reilly scoring two goals each and the power play deciding the game.

Filip Forsberg opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:01 of the first period. Stamkos made it 2-0 at 10:48 of the first period, and Nashville carried that two-goal lead into the first intermission. Colorado did not score in the opening period, and the period scores finished 2-0, 3-1 and 1-1 across the three periods.

O'Reilly and Drury stretch the lead in the second

O'Reilly scored his first goal of the night on the power play at 6:38 of the second period to make it 3-0. Jack Drury added a fourth Nashville goal at 16:36 of the second period, and O'Reilly scored again on the power play at 17:29 to make it 5-0.

Colorado finally answered late in the period. Artturi Lehkonen scored at 17:55 of the second period for his 10th goal of the season, set up by Martin Necas. The goal cut the lead to 5-1, but it came after Nashville had already scored three times in the period and built a lead Colorado never closed.

Necas finished with two assists for Colorado, the only Avalanche player to record more than one point in the game as described by the two recaps.

Toews answers, then Stamkos closes it on the power play

Devon Toews gave Colorado a brief opening early in the third period. Toews scored at 2:43 of the third period, his fourth goal of the season, to make it 5-2 and give the Avalanche a chance to press for a third goal.

Stamkos ended that chance on a five-on-three power play. He scored his second goal of the night at 10:24 of the third period to restore the four-goal lead at 6-2, and neither team scored again.

The result turned on special teams. Sports Illustrated reported that Nashville dominated special teams, and the scoring list supports that account: Forsberg scored on the power play, O'Reilly scored twice on the power play, and Stamkos finished the scoring on a five-on-three power play. Four of Nashville's six goals came with the man advantage.

Records, goaltenders and what comes next

Sports Illustrated listed Nashville at 4-3-4 and Colorado at 6-5-1 after the game. Nashville was playing the second game of a back-to-back after losing in overtime in Pittsburgh on Saturday, and the Predators responded with their highest goal total in the details reported by the two recaps.

Scott Wedgewood was in goal for Colorado and Justus Annunen was in goal for Nashville, according to the Sports Illustrated recap play-by-play.

Colorado returns home to host the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. Nashville plays again on Tuesday, October 27, at home against the New York Islanders.
