Haliburton scored 20 of his 24 points after halftime. He shot 8 of 13 from the field and 4 of 7 from three point range, and he added 10 assists to go with his team high scoring total.

The performance was his best game since returning from a torn right Achilles tendon that robbed him of the 2025-26 season, according to Reuters via Field Level Media. Indiana built on a 65-56 halftime lead in the second half, and Haliburton provided most of the scoring that kept Brooklyn from coming back into the game.

Brooklyn shot 40.7 percent from the field, making 35 of 86 shots, according to Sports Illustrated. Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle were each held to 10 points. The two combined to shoot 6 of 21 from the field and missed all seven of their three point attempts.

For Brooklyn, the result leaves the Nets still looking for a first win at 0-3.
