The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Detroit Pistons 112-106 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in a matchup of the two top teams in the Eastern Conference. The win was Philadelphia's fifth in a row. It pushed the 76ers to 8-1 and gave them their first 4-0 start on the road in a quarter century.

Jaylen Brown led Philadelphia with 30 points and seven rebounds. Joel Embiid added 26 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, Tyrese Maxey had 19 points and seven assists, and VJ Edgecombe had 11 points and six rebounds. Five Philadelphia players scored in double figures on a night when the 76ers led by 14 points at halftime and held on through a late Detroit push.

Brown sets the tone early

Brown did most of his scoring before the break. He had 23 of his 30 points in the first half, and Philadelphia went into halftime ahead 56-42. The early lead gave the 76ers a cushion for the second half, when Detroit kept cutting into the margin.

Brown also made the play that protected the lead late. In the fourth quarter, with Detroit within four points, Brown blocked a pull-up three point attempt by Cade Cunningham. The stop kept Philadelphia in front in the closing stretch, and the 76ers finished off a six point road win against the other team at the top of the conference.

A heated moment before halftime

The first half had a flash point under the basket. With 1:25 left in the second quarter, Embiid and Pistons forward Tolu Smith got into a shoving exchange. Officials reviewed the play and ruled that Embiid initiated the action with an elbow. Embiid received a technical foul. Cunningham converted the technical free throw, and Marc Davis was the crew chief for the game.

The incident did not change the shape of the night for Embiid. He finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds, a scoring and rebounding load that paired with Brown's 30 points to give Philadelphia control inside and on the perimeter at the same time. James came close to a triple double with his 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Maxey ran the backcourt with 19 points and seven assists.

Series even, road start intact

The win evened the season series at 1-1. Detroit won the first meeting in Philadelphia on October 25, and that loss is still the only one on Philadelphia's record this season. The final scheduled meeting between the two teams is February 5 in Philadelphia.

For Philadelphia, the trip to Detroit added up to a clear statement early in the season: five straight wins, an 8-1 record, and a 4-0 road start the team has not matched in a quarter century. For Detroit, the loss came at home in a game between the top two teams in the East, after the Pistons had cut a 14 point halftime deficit to four points late in the fourth quarter before Brown's block stopped the run.
