Game 2 of the World Series is tonight, Saturday, October 24, at American Family Field in Milwaukee, with the Milwaukee Brewers leading the Tampa Bay Rays one game to none. First pitch is 8:08 p.m. ET on FOX, with streaming on Fubo and FOX One. Less than 24 hours after a tense opener, the same two teams go again in the same park.

Milwaukee won Game 1 on Friday night, 3-2. Jacob Misiorowski opened the game with a 103.5 mph fastball, the fastest pitch recorded in World Series history, and allowed one run over five innings. The Brewers scored twice in the first inning, added a run in the seventh on an RBI single by Jackson Chourio, and then survived a ninth inning that included a video review overturning what looked like a game-ending double play. Trevor Megill struck out Jonny DeLuca with the tying run at third to end it.

The pitching matchup

Tampa Bay turns to its ace, Drew Rasmussen, who was pushed back from Game 1 to Game 2 for an extra day of rest. Rasmussen went 11-0 with a 1.73 ERA after the All-Star break, and the Rays won 14 of his 15 starts in that span. He kept his message simple this week. "I think where people get in trouble is they try to overcomplicate what the moment is," he told reporters. "The plate is still 60 feet, 6 inches away."

Milwaukee counters with rookie Logan Henderson. The Brewers are 21-4 in Henderson's 25 career starts, a record that explains why manager Pat Murphy trusts a rookie with a chance to take a 2-0 series lead at home. History sits on Milwaukee's side tonight: home teams that lead 1-0 in the current 2-3-2 format have won 70 of 104 series.

What is at stake

Neither franchise has ever won a World Series. Milwaukee's only previous appearance was a seven-game loss in 1982. Tampa Bay lost the Series in 2008 and 2020. A Rays loss tonight sends them home down 0-2. A Brewers win puts them two wins from a title before the series moves.

Full schedule

Game 3 is Monday, October 26, at Tropicana Field, followed by Game 4 on Tuesday, October 27, and Game 5, if needed, on Wednesday, October 28. The series returns to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Friday, October 30, and Game 7 on Saturday, October 31, if needed. Every game starts at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
