Torino won 3-0 away at Parma on Monday night in Serie A, with Giovanni Simeone scoring in the 4th and 69th minutes and Che Adams adding the second goal in the 24th.

Simeone put Torino ahead inside four minutes at the Ennio Tardini, finishing a move set up by Rafik Belghali. It was his first league goal of the season. Adams doubled the lead 20 minutes later with a header, and Parma, playing their first home game under new coach Alberto Gilardino, had no way back.

Parma pushed and forced Torino goalkeeper Lucas Perri into seven saves, but Torino's three goals came from their only three shots on target. Simeone sealed the result in the 69th minute, again from a Belghali assist, to complete his double.

What the result means

The win, Torino's second in a row, lifts them to 10th place in Serie A on 10 points from seven games, with three wins, one draw and three defeats. Parma stay 19th on four points, with one win, one draw and five defeats from seven games.

For Parma the numbers tell a hard story. They created chances at home, tested Perri again and again, and still lost by three goals. Gilardino's first home match in charge ends with his team second from bottom and still looking for a response.

The front two deliver

Torino's goals came from a clear pattern. Belghali set up both of Simeone's goals, one early and one late, and Adams scored between them with a header. Simeone finished the night with two league goals for the season, both of them in this match, while Adams took his tally to three.

That spread matters for Torino. A team sitting in the bottom half at kickoff needs more than one route to goal, and on Monday the visitors found three goals from their front line while their goalkeeper kept a clean sheet at the other end. Parma, by contrast, are left with effort and no reward, and a home crowd that watched its side test Perri seven times without scoring.

Monday night roundup

In the other Serie A game on Monday, Monza beat Cagliari 4-0 at the Stadio Brianteo. Monza led 1-0 at half time and added three more goals after the break.

In Spain, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano drew 1-1 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in La Liga. Rayo led 1-0 at half time, and Martin Satriano equalised for Getafe in the 56th minute.
