No. 7 Ole Miss plays at No. 19 Texas on Saturday night in Austin in the biggest game of the college football weekend, a prime-time meeting between a Rebels team on a two-game win streak and a Longhorns team that has lost two straight and has no room left for another defeat.

Time, TV and stream

Kickoff is Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, 6:30 p.m. Central, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The game airs nationally on ABC. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit call the game, with Holly Rowe reporting from the sideline. Streaming options include Fubo and the ESPN app, according to USA Today and the Clarion Ledger.

It is the featured prime-time game on ABC for the second time this season for Texas, and a crowd of more than 100,000 is expected, according to The Rebel Walk.

Texas is trying to stop the slide

Texas is 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC. The Longhorns lost to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry and then lost at home to Florida last week, and both defeats finished 27-24, according to the Clarion Ledger. A team that reached No. 1 in the polls earlier this season is now trying to avoid a three-loss October, with trips to Missouri and LSU still ahead.

Quarterback Arch Manning is at the center of it. USA Today wrote that for head coach Steve Sarkisian and Manning, the game carries a tremendous amount of weight, and that a win would make the rest of the Texas schedule look far more manageable. Manning also carries a family tie to the other sideline: he is the nephew of Ole Miss legend Eli Manning and the grandson of Ole Miss legend Archie Manning, the Clarion Ledger noted.

Ole Miss arrives in form

Ole Miss is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC, and head coach Pete Golding's team has won two straight by wide margins. The Rebels beat Vanderbilt 52-17 and then routed Missouri 31-3 at home last week in what the Clarion Ledger called their most complete performance of the season.

Against Missouri, Ole Miss ran for a season-high 257 yards. Kewan Lacy and Makhi Frazier both topped 100 rushing yards, and quarterback Trinidad Chambliss accounted for four touchdowns. The defense held Missouri to 39 rushing yards and 1.5 yards per carry after entering the game last in the SEC in rushing yards allowed per game. Golding said on Monday that the change on defense after the Florida loss came from focus and attention to detail, not new calls, The Rebel Walk reported.

First meeting in 13 years

The two programs have played eight times, and this is their first meeting since 2013, when Ole Miss won 44-23. It is also their first meeting as SEC rivals. Ole Miss has beaten then-No. 24 Louisville, Charlotte and then-No. 7 LSU this season, with its only loss at Florida.

On College GameDay, Desmond Howard picked Ole Miss, Nick Saban picked Texas, and Pat McAfee and guest picker Dalton Kincaid both picked Ole Miss, the Clarion Ledger reported. Herbstreit did not pick the game because he is part of the ABC broadcast team. Texas is a small home favorite with the oddsmakers.
