Phantom Blade Zero sold 4 million copies worldwide within 72 hours of going on sale, developer S-Game confirmed through the game's official X account on November 2. The figure covers digital sales on PlayStation 5, Steam, the Epic Games Store and Tencent's WeGame storefront. It is the first sales number the Beijing-based studio has released for the game, and it arrived three days after the October 29 launch.
S-Game announced the milestone on the game's official account, thanking players for their support following the launch on PlayStation 5 and PC. "Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours! Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!" the studio wrote.
A Steam peak above 800,000
The PC launch drove much of the early traffic. The game's Steam player count peaked at 833,921 concurrent players on Sunday, November 1, according to SteamDB charts. The game also climbed to the top of the Steam global best-selling chart at launch, ahead of long-running titles such as PUBG and Dota 2, and held first place in the Steam sales charts in the days after release.
Phantom Blade Zero is a wuxia action game from S-Game. It is priced at $59.99 on Steam and holds a Metacritic score of 88, above the 81 recorded by Black Myth: Wukong.
Estimates before launch, and what is not known
Third-party tracking pointed to a strong opening before the milestone was confirmed. Alinea Analytics estimated about 850,000 pre-launch copies across Steam and PlayStation 5, worth roughly $43 million, with about 73.8 percent on Steam and 26.2 percent on PlayStation 5, and more than 3 million wishlists registered before launch. Those figures are estimates from an analytics firm, not numbers released by S-Game.
S-Game has not released a platform split or a regional breakdown for the 4 million copies, so it is not yet clear how the sales divide between PC and console. Physical PlayStation 5 editions are planned for 2027.
Measured against Wukong
The launch trails the biggest recent release from a Chinese studio. Black Myth: Wukong sold 10 million copies in its first three days in August 2024. Phantom Blade Zero reached about 40 percent of that total. The comparison still marks a large step for the studio: this is S-Game's first big-budget console and PC release, and only its second game overall, after Phantom Blade: Executioners.
