Mohamed Light of Egypt won the Clash Royale League 2026 World Finals in Shanghai, China, on Sunday, November 8, 2026. Playing from the lower bracket, he beat Pedro of Brazil, listed in the bracket as CAL Pedro, 3 to 2 in a decisive bracket-reset series to take the title, the $200,000 champion prize and his third world crown in a row.
A final that needed two series
Pedro reached the grand final from the upper bracket without a loss. Light reached it from the lower bracket, where one more loss would have ended his tournament. Under the bracket-reset rule, a lower-bracket finalist who beats the undefeated upper-bracket finalist in the first grand final series does not win the title on the spot. The win forces one more decisive series, and the champion is the player who wins that second series.
That is how Sunday played out. Light beat Pedro in the first grand final series, which forced the reset. The reset series then went the full distance, and Light closed it out 3 to 2. DeckBeacon, which tracks the official World Finals decks game by game, lists Light's decks from both the grand final and the reset series against CAL Pedro, matching the two-series finish reported from Shanghai.
Three days, 16 players, one bracket
The World Finals ran from November 6 to 8, 2026 at the Huangpu Inner Bund Culture Center in Shanghai. Supercell, the maker of Clash Royale, organizes the tournament. Sixteen players took part, the total prize pool was $560,000, and every match was streamed live on the Clash Royale event platform.
The field was built from several routes. Five players came through the monthly finals, seven came through the Clash Royale League points leaderboard, two came through the last-chance qualifier and two came from China. The bracket used double elimination, so one loss moved a player into the lower bracket and a second loss ended his run. Most matches were best-of-three duels. The upper bracket final, the lower bracket final and the grand final used a best-of-five format, which is why the reset series could run to a fifth game.
Four titles, three of them in a row
The Shanghai win is Light's fourth world championship. He won his first title in 2022, in Helsinki. The 2023 crown went to Mugi. Light then took the title again in 2024, again in Helsinki, defended it in 2025 in Atlanta, and defended it again in Shanghai in 2026. Three straight titles, in 2024, 2025 and 2026, now sit alongside the first one.
The champion prize tells the same story of a long run at the top. The 2022 title paid $250,000 to the champion. The titles in 2024, 2025 and 2026 each paid $200,000, the amount Light took home on Sunday. A first crown, one year away, then three defences in a row is a rare run, against a field that rebuilds itself every season through monthly finals and a points leaderboard.
For Pedro, the loss came after an undefeated run through the upper bracket, the strongest route to the final. He needed one series win on Sunday and did not get it in two attempts. For Light, the lower bracket route asked more of him, and he delivered twice on the final day, first to force the reset and then to win it.
