The original report follows.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins a two-day visit to Gujarat on Friday, October 30, where he will launch and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 14,000 crore and release the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN farmer income scheme, worth about Rs 19,000 crore, officials said on Thursday.

The visit covers Banaskantha district in the north and Ekta Nagar in Narmada district, home of the Statue of Unity. It ends on October 31 with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, National Unity Day, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Banaskantha: cattle research, dairy and roads

In Banaskantha, Modi will visit an Embryo Transfer Technology and In Vitro Fertilisation laboratory and dedicate the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre at Bhildi to the nation. The centre covers 127 acres and is the country's first facility dedicated to the Kankrej cattle breed. Officials say its breeding and genetic work could speed up breed improvement by 10 to 20 times.

He will lay foundation stones for two Bio-CNG plants of Banas Dairy at Tharad and Radhanpur, able to process 75 metric tonnes and 100 metric tonnes of cattle dung a day. On transport, he will launch the extension of Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 to the airport and to GIFT City, and the widening of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road, State Highway 41, from four lanes to eight at an estimated cost of Rs 2,600 crore. He will also dedicate 521 completed projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, worth about Rs 4,950 crore, lay foundation stones for 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi centres, inaugurate 361 completed centres, and flag off two train services.

Rs 19,000 crore to farmers

The largest single item reaches far beyond Gujarat. The 24th PM-KISAN instalment will send about Rs 19,000 crore to more than nine crore farmer families across India. The scheme pays eligible farm households Rs 6,000 a year in three instalments, sent directly to bank accounts. Modi will also start on-ground work under 12 approved horticulture clusters.

Ekta Nagar and Unity Day

On Friday evening, Modi travels to Ekta Nagar, where he will inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026, a festival of state culture, food and crafts, and attend the Ekta Prakash Parv and the Narmada Aarti. On October 31 he will launch further projects worth more than Rs 400 crore in Ekta Nagar, covering public facilities, tourism and waste management, before the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations.

Why it matters

The visit pairs a national farm payout with a Gujarat project list that runs from metro extensions to cattle genetics. The PM-KISAN release lands in bank accounts across the country on Friday, while the Banaskantha programme puts dairy, animal breeding and road capacity at the centre of the state's pitch to farmers and industry. Ekta Diwas then closes the trip with the Patel anniversary at the Statue of Unity, in Kevadia.
