The wait for more than one crore applicants ends on Monday, October 26, when the basis of allotment for the Jio Platforms IPO is finalised. The Rs 30,213 crore issue, the largest India has seen, opened on October 21 and closed on October 23. It was subscribed 22.19 times overall, with the qualified institutional portion subscribed 70.55 times. Anchor investors took Rs 8,109.85 crore of shares at Rs 1,119 each, across 212 investors, before the public offer opened.

The price band was Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share, and one lot is 12 shares, so the smallest application cost Rs 13,428 at the top price. KFin Technologies is the registrar for the issue.

How to check on KFin

Go to the KFin Technologies IPO status page at ipostatus.kfintech.com. Select Jio Platforms Limited from the IPO list once the registrar uploads the allotment data. Choose to search by PAN, application number, or DP ID and client ID. Enter the details, complete the captcha, and submit. The screen shows whether you were allotted shares and how many.

How to check on BSE and NSE

On the BSE application status page, select Equity as the issue type, choose Jio Platforms Limited from the issue list, and enter your application number or PAN, then search. On the NSE bid verification page, open the Equity and SME IPO bid details section, select the symbol JPL, and enter your PAN or application number, then submit.

What happens next

Refunds for applicants who receive nothing, and the credit of shares to demat accounts, are scheduled for Tuesday, October 27. The shares list on BSE and NSE on Wednesday, October 28, at 10 a.m.

With demand at 22 times the shares on offer, most retail applicants will not receive a full allotment. Under the market regulator's rules, when the retail portion is oversubscribed, minimum lots are handed out by a computerised draw, so an applicant who bid for several lots will in most cases receive one lot or none.

One caution travels with every report on this issue. The grey market premium, reported at around Rs 250 per share on October 25, is an unofficial price from an unregulated market. The exchanges and the regulator do not publish or recognise it, and the actual listing price often differs from it. Treat it as mood, not as a promise. A second caution: the registrar never asks for money, a UPI PIN, or a one time code to show an allotment result. Anyone who asks is not the registrar.
