The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 on Sunday at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, scoring 21 points in the second quarter and leading 28-0 at halftime in a game that was settled long before the fourth quarter began. Jacksonville improved to 5-2 with its first divisional win of the season, and Indianapolis fell to 2-6.

Trevor Lawrence did not have to carry the offense. He completed 10 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns through the first three quarters, finishing with a passer rating of 153.3, and backup Quinn Ewers took over with 13:21 left in the fourth quarter because the result was no longer in doubt.

How the rout was built

Lawrence opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr., his third touchdown catch of the season and his first since Week 4 against Cincinnati. The opening drive covered 103 yards in 12 plays, helped by a 46-yard catch and run by tight end Brenton Strange. Lawrence added a 31-yard touchdown pass to Nate Boerkircher in the second quarter, and Bhayshul Tuten broke a 39-yard touchdown run as Jacksonville scored 21 points in the quarter.

The defense scored as well. Safety Rayaun Lane III intercepted Daniel Jones and returned the ball 92 yards for a touchdown just before halftime, the first pick-six by a Jaguar this season and the first interception of Lane's career. Lane, a sixth-round draft pick in 2025, was starting because Eric Murray was out with an elbow injury and Antonio Johnson was out with an ankle injury. The interception came right after Jacksonville had lost the ball on a sack and fumble by Lawrence.

Tuten finished the job in the third quarter. He took a screen pass from Lawrence 25 yards for a touchdown at the end of the quarter, after Chris Rodriguez Jr. had scored on a 28-yard run earlier in the half. Tuten carried 16 times for 104 yards and caught passes for a team-high 55 yards. It was his first 100-yard rushing game after 21 career games without one, and he became the first Jaguar since at least 2000 with a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown of 25 yards or more in the same game.

A hard day for Indianapolis, and one worry for Jacksonville

Daniel Jones finished 19 of 28 for 144 yards, with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Josh Downs in the third quarter, two interceptions and three sacks. Anthony Richardson replaced him with 11:45 left in the fourth quarter and made his first appearance of the season. The Colts have still not won in Jacksonville in more than a decade.

Jacksonville's one concern came in the second quarter, when defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton was carted off with an apparent right knee injury and ruled out of the game. Hamilton anchors a run defense that had allowed 72.2 yards per game, the best mark in the league this season.

The win carried two streaks with it. Jacksonville has scored at least 34 points in seven straight home games, matching the longest such streak in one stadium in NFL history, held by the 2012-13 Denver Broncos and the 1960-61 Los Angeles Chargers. It was also a 12th straight home win over the Colts, a streak that dates back to the 2015 season. Jacksonville had lost its first divisional game this year, 34-31 to Houston in Week 6. The Jaguars play next at Baltimore on Thursday night.
