NBC Sports reported that Morant was ruled out more than halfway through the fourth quarter, noted that the exit could have been precautionary, and said the team should provide a further update in the coming days. If Morant misses time, Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday are expected to take on more minutes, with Holiday likely to start.
Memphis lost a player of its own. Center Quinten Post left the game late in the second quarter with a right ankle injury and was doubtful to return. He had 10 points and four rebounds in seven first half minutes.
The game was the final stop of Memphis's four game road trip, before a four game homestand. Portland acquired Morant from Memphis in exchange for forwards Jerami Grant and Kris Murray, who both returned to Portland with Memphis in this game.
