Dancing With the Stars sent two couples home on Horror Movie Night on Tuesday, October 27, eliminating Tyler Cameron with partner Sharna Burgess and Jackson Olson with partner Emma Slater in a double elimination that cut the Season 35 field from 10 couples to eight.

The result combined judges scores and viewer votes from two episodes. No one was eliminated on Dedication Night last week, so the scores and votes from that episode carried over and were added to the Horror Movie Night totals before the exits were announced, USA Today, Page Six and NorthJersey.com reported. Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik stood in the final three with Cameron and Olson before Ali was declared safe.

A first perfect score for Harry Shum Jr.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson delivered the biggest score of the night, a perfect 40 out of 40 for a contemporary routine to "Toxic" by 2WEI, inspired by the Saw films. It was the first perfect score of Season 35 and gave the couple a combined two week total of 76 out of 80, the highest on the leaderboard. Bruno Tonioli called the routine perfection, according to NorthJersey.com.

Guest judge Shirley Ballas joined Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli at the desk. Ballas is the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing in Britain and the mother of pro dancer Mark Ballas.

Why the two couples went home

Cameron and Burgess performed a Viennese waltz to "Love Song for a Vampire" by Annie Lennox, inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula. The judges gave them 26 out of 40, tied for the lowest score of the night, and their combined total of 58 out of 80 was the lowest of any couple. Cameron looked upset after the scores and tried to step away from the camera before the commercial break, USA Today reported. He later apologized, said he was upset with his own performance, and gave Burgess a warm goodbye.

Olson's exit was closer. He and Slater scored 35 out of 40 for a contemporary routine to "That's Life" by Frank Sinatra, inspired by Joker, with Olson dancing in the character's red suit and green hair. Their combined total was 67 out of 80, level with Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, but the combined vote put Olson and Slater in the final three and then out of the competition.

The rest of the leaderboard

Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy scored 37 for an Argentine tango inspired by 28 Weeks Later, as Chmerkovskiy returned after a one week suspension. Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold also scored 37 for a contemporary routine inspired by Annabelle: Creation. Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov scored 36 for an Argentine tango inspired by Black Swan. Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach scored 35, Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas scored 32, Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik scored 28, and Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa scored 26 but survived with a higher combined total than Cameron.

Eight couples remain in the contest for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy: Shum, Dewan, Glenn, Frech, Wood, Higgins, Stiles and Ali. The show returns on Monday, November 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC and Disney Plus for Disney Night, a move from the usual Tuesday slot during election week, with Cynthia Erivo as guest judge, NorthJersey.com reported. Episodes stream on Hulu the following day.
