What Gardai said
An Garda Siochana is investigating the collision. RTE News carried the same injury count in its own report. A large emergency response on Oliver Plunkett Road
Emergency services were called to the scene in numbers. The Irish Sun reported around a dozen emergency vehicles, including at least five ambulances. RTE reported four ambulances, several fire brigade units and garda cars at the scene. Dublin Fire Brigade also attended.
Police sealed off the scene. A medical tent was placed next to the crash vehicle, and the vehicle, a dark SUV, remained at the scene as Gardai closed off the road. One woman at the scene told the Irish Sun that one of the injured children had been trapped under a wheel of the car. That account is a witness account reported by the newspaper.
Local Fine Gael councillor Dan Carson said: "My thoughts are with the families affected and the first responders at the scene."

Gardai have given no cause, and no detail on how serious the injuries are beyond saying they varied in degree.
