Apple and Palantir report quarterly results after the US market close on Monday, November 2, opening a week of earnings, midterm elections and employment data that investors have been building toward since Friday's selloff.

Analysts expect Apple to post quarterly revenue of about $113.6 billion and net income of about $29.2 billion, according to the mean estimate from Visible Alpha reported by Investopedia. A separate preview based on Koyfin data put expected revenue growth at about 11 percent, with iPhone revenue seen rising about 15 percent to $56.54 billion. The report is Apple's first with John Ternus, who replaced Tim Cook, as chief executive, and the penultimate Magnificent Seven report of the season, with Nvidia still to come.

What investors will read first

For Apple, the numbers that matter most are iPhone demand for the new iPhone Duo, the forecast for the holiday quarter, and how the company is handling rising memory chip prices, according to the Stocktwits earnings preview. For Palantir, analysts expect revenue of about $2.18 billion to $2.2 billion, up roughly 85 percent from a year earlier, against company guidance of $2.160 billion to $2.164 billion. Investopedia put expected Palantir net income at about $969 million.

The reports arrive after a hard October for technology shares. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.3 percent in October, its worst month since March 2025, while futures on Monday morning pointed higher, with S and P 500 futures up about 0.5 percent and Nasdaq 100 futures up about 0.8 percent. More than 60 percent of S and P 500 companies have now reported this season, and more than four fifths of them have beaten estimates, according to FactSet figures cited by Investopedia, although the beats have been smaller than in recent years.

AMD reports on Tuesday, November 3, the same day US voters decide the midterm elections. The October employment report follows on Friday, November 6.

The week around the reports

Apple and Palantir are the first of 138 S and P 500 companies reporting between Monday and Friday, in one of the busiest stretches of the earnings season, according to a CNBC weekly outlook cited in earnings previews. Tuesday brings the midterm elections, which decide all 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats, and AMD's results after the close. The October employment report lands on Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET, with economists surveyed by Dow Jones expecting payroll growth of about 55,000. A manufacturing survey from the Institute for Supply Management is also due on Monday, with its services survey on Wednesday.

Crypto markets feed into the same risk picture. Bitcoin traded near $78,000 on Monday, higher than late Friday, after Binance said it would restore withdrawals and had covered about 90 percent of the funds affected by last week's hack, Investopedia reported. Shares of Strategy and Circle pointed higher before the open, while Coinbase was down about 1 percent.
