Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander were each sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on Tuesday in Manhattan, ending a sex trafficking case that prosecutors built around accounts from dozens of women who said the brothers used wealth and access to luxury real estate to lure them and then drugged and raped them.

U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni handed down the sentences after a long hearing in a packed courtroom, where about a dozen women gave statements describing what the assaults had done to their lives. One woman, using the pseudonym Katie Moore, told the court the men had spent years treating women and girls as if their lives, bodies and voices meant nothing. "But we are not disposable and they are not untouchable," she said.

Convicted in March after a five week trial

A federal jury convicted the brothers earlier this year, in March, after a five week trial. All three were found guilty of sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and inducement to travel for unlawful sexual activity. Alon and Tal Alexander were also convicted of sex trafficking a minor, and Oren Alexander was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Eleven women testified at the trial that one or more of the brothers had sexually assaulted them. Prosecutors said more than 70 women had given accounts to investigators. Prosecutors asked the judge to impose life in prison for each brother. Defense lawyers asked for 15 years, the mandatory minimum for the charges.

A fall from the top of luxury real estate

Tal Alexander, 40, and Oren Alexander, 39, were top brokers at Douglas Elliman before they left in 2022 to start their own luxury brokerage, Official, selling high end homes in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Alon Alexander, Oren's twin, worked as an executive at the family's private security company. The brothers were arrested in December 2024.

Judge Caproni compared the brothers to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Supporters wrote letters describing them as gentlemen, she said, while the women who testified described, in her words, "sadistic, misogynistic sexual predators." She said she credited the women's accounts, and she said the brothers' claims of rehabilitation rang hollow because they had not admitted what they did was wrong.

Each brother also received 10 years of supervised release after prison.

The brothers maintain their innocence

All three men spoke in court in beige prison clothing. They said they were ashamed of parts of their past behavior, but each maintained that he had never drugged or raped anyone. "My brothers and I have never drugged and raped anyone," Oren Alexander said, as several victims shook their heads. "Have never trafficked anyone for sex. Have never conspired to harm anyone."

Their lawyers have said they plan to appeal the convictions. For the women who spoke on Tuesday, the judge said the sentences close a case that began with arrests nearly two years ago and ran through a trial that put the brothers' private lives, text messages and party circuit on the public record.
