Alabama is getting three starters back for the biggest road game left on its schedule. Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, center Racin Delgatty and defensive tackle Terrance Green have all been cleared to play on Saturday at LSU, the school announced on Friday through Yea Alabama, its name, image and likeness entity.
All three players were hurt in the Georgia game last month and missed the Tennessee and Texas A&M games. All three were listed as questionable on the SEC availability reports Alabama released on Wednesday and Thursday, so their status stayed open until the Friday announcement.
What each return means
Coleman-Williams is Alabama's starting wide receiver and its most dependable target. He left the Georgia game in the second half and had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury, according to ESPN reporting cited by The Tuscaloosa News. He was seen practicing in film Alabama released this week ahead of the LSU trip.
Delgatty starts at center. He was injured on the final offensive play of the Georgia game. His return lets Mal Waldrep move back to left guard, where he started before the injuries reshuffled the line.
Green, the starting nose tackle, left the Georgia game in the first half. Alabama linebacker Yhonzae Pierre told reporters this week that Green was coming back against LSU.
Former Alabama coach Nick Saban pointed the same way on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, telling the show Alabama would get its center back, its receiver back and its nose guard back for the trip to Baton Rouge.
Four names still open
Four other Alabama players were listed as questionable this week: cornerback Zabien Brown, running backs EJ Crowell and AK Dear, and guard William Sanders. Their status is due to be updated in Alabama's availability report on Friday evening, with a final report due Saturday by 1 p.m. CT.
Sanders hurt his ankle against Texas A&M and had surgery. Coach Kalen DeBoer said last week Sanders was expected to miss two to three weeks, but Sanders was still listed as questionable this week.
