No. 21 South Carolina beat Texas A&M 17-9 on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. The Gamecocks won their fourth game in a row, improved to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in the SEC, and became bowl eligible. Texas A&M fell to 4-5 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers carried the win and nearly did not finish the game. He finished 20 of 31 passing for 251 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions, and he ran six times for 34 yards and one touchdown.

Sellers leaves, gets X-rays and comes back

Sellers hurt his left ankle in the second quarter when he was sacked. He left the game, and head coach Shane Beamer said Sellers was getting X-rays at halftime, The Greenville News reported. Sellers returned for the second half with limited mobility, USA Today reported. Saturday Down South reported that Beamer had worried about his quarterback's health at halftime.

Before the injury, Sellers threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Mazeo Bennett Jr. in the second quarter. That score gave South Carolina a 7-6 halftime lead on homecoming in Columbia.

Texas A&M gains 457 yards and scores no touchdowns

Texas A&M finished with 457 yards of offense and zero touchdowns. The Aggies drove inside the South Carolina 30-yard line four times in the first three quarters, and every one of those drives ended in a field goal attempt, On3 reported. David Olano made field goals of 40 and 44 yards. A third Aggie field goal in the third quarter made the score 9-7, and a 30-yard attempt missed.

Owens ran for 137 yards on 19 carries for Texas A&M, and Horton caught five passes for 78 yards. The South Carolina defense held on every trip that mattered, and the Aggies never reached the end zone.

Orsan and Sellers settle it in the fourth quarter

Malik Orsan kicked a 44-yard field goal with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter to put South Carolina ahead 10-9, The Greenville News reported. Texas A&M got the ball back and turned it over on downs. On the next play, Sellers broke free for a 41-yard touchdown run with 1:27 left, and the extra point made it 17-9.

The Aggies still had one last drive. They reached the South Carolina 10-yard line in the final minute and faced fourth and goal from the 9 on the final play of the game. Quarterback Marcel Reed's pass fell incomplete, Saturday Down South reported, and the game was over.

A season turned around

South Carolina sat at 2-3 in early October after back to back losses to Mississippi State and Kentucky, games in which the Gamecocks blew leads of at least 16 points, Saturday Down South reported. Four wins later, they are bowl eligible with three games left. South Carolina plays Arkansas next week and Georgia in two weeks. Texas A&M needs two wins in its last three games to reach a bowl. The Aggies host Tennessee on November 14, then play Oklahoma and Texas.
