Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match opens in cinemas across Nepal on Friday, October 23, 2026, with 230 shows booked for the first day. The date is Kartik 6 in the Nepali calendar. Advance booking figures recorded on Thursday evening point to a strong opening, and the film has the largest Friday allocation among the festive releases.

The biggest Friday frame

Four other festive titles share the same Friday, but none comes close on show count. Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2 has 116 shows. Aa Bata Aama 2 has 112 shows. 12 Gaun 2 has 60 shows, and its allocation has fallen sharply in the days before release. The gap gives Kabaddi 5 the widest reach on opening day.

Sold out in the centre and east

Almost all shows are reported sold out in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal and Chitwan in central Nepal. The same pattern holds in Damak and Itahari in the east. Occupancy looks lower in Nepalgunj in the west. Cinema managers will watch whether the western centres pick up once word of mouth starts after the first shows.

Same day in the Gulf and the United States

Distributors say the film also opens Friday in Gulf countries and in 40 cities across the United States. Nepali audiences abroad get the film on the same day as audiences at home. That same day release matters for a series with a large diaspora following, and it gives the opening weekend a second front beyond Nepal.

Kaji enters a new stage

The film is the fifth in the Kabaddi series. Ram Babu Gurung directed and wrote it. Dayahang Rai stars as Kaji, with Bipin Karki, Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Rishma Gurung and Miruna Magar in the cast. It runs 2 hours 25 minutes and is a Nepali language drama-comedy.

The story follows Kaji as he enters a new stage of life after the final match. Familiar faces return, and new arrivals bring fresh complications. The makers have kept further plot details under wraps before release.

No box office collection numbers exist yet because the film has not opened. Any total will follow after opening day, once cinemas report their first day figures. Same-day openings in the Gulf and in 40 cities across the United States mean families split between Nepal and abroad can watch the film in the same first weekend.
