Yuri Yoshida won the BMW Ladies Championship at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea, on Sunday, October 25, 2026. She finished at 17-under 271 and held off Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi by one stroke. It was the first LPGA Tour victory of her career. Yoshida, 26, from Japan, closed with a four-under 68. Her four rounds were 66, 69, 68 and 68, and reports noted she was one of only two players to break 70 in all four rounds.
A charge from four shots back
Yoshida started the final round four shots off the pace. The Golf Channel reported that she made an eagle at the par-5 second hole, followed it with three straight birdies, and reached the turn in 5-under 31. Bogeys at the 15th and the 18th cost her ground late in the round, but a birdie at the 17th kept her in front by the one shot she needed.
The leader who could not close it out
Overnight leader Haeran Ryu had led by four strokes at the start of the day. She shot 73 on Sunday and finished tied for second at 16-under 272. Reports of her round described 15 straight pars, a dropped shot at the 16th, a birdie at the 17th, and a miss at the 18th that ended her chance to force a playoff. Choi tied with Ryu at 16-under after a round with four birdies and one bogey. Choi is still looking for her first win in 125 career LPGA Tour starts, and she was a runner-up last week in Shanghai as well.
Yoshida said after the win, in comments carried by Golfweek: "It's a special moment for me, and actually, I was nervous. But at this moment, I'm really happy."
The prize and the place in the season
Yoshida won $352,500 from a prize fund of $2,350,000, in a field of 84 players. Golfweek reported that the win took her career earnings to $1,591,573. She is the fourth first-time winner of the LPGA season, and reports noted she is the first Japanese player to win the BMW Ladies Championship. For Ryu, ranked world number three, the week ended with a four-shot lead lost on the final day. For Yoshida, it ended with a first tour title won from behind, built on one fast start to the final round: an eagle, three birdies in a row, and a score at the turn that put her in front for good.
