The Los Angeles Rams beat the Los Angeles Chargers 24-9 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, scoring 21 unanswered points to win the second regular season Battle for LA at the stadium. The Rams trailed 9-3 before they took a 10-9 lead at halftime and pulled away in the second half.
A slow start, then the turn
The Rams did not record a first down until Matthew Stafford connected with Tutu Atwell on a 40 yard gain down the left side with 1:26 remaining in the first half. That drive set up the Rams taking the lead before halftime, and it changed a game the Chargers had controlled on the scoreboard without scoring a touchdown.
The Chargers scored no touchdowns in the game. Their nine points came from kicker Cameron Dicker.
Los Angeles nearly added to its lead late in the first half, in the other direction. Justin Herbert completed a 54 yard pass to Ladd McConkey late in the half, but McConkey was stopped at the Rams 1 yard line as time expired, so the Chargers did not score on the play.
Second half runs away from the Chargers
Blake Corum scored on a 23 yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the second half to put the Rams up 17-9.
Herbert's second interception then settled it. Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie picked off the pass and returned it to the Chargers 22 yard line. One play later, Stafford hit Puka Nacua on a screen pass for an 18 yard touchdown that made it 24-9 with 3:41 left in the third quarter. Nacua finished with 10 catches for 82 yards on 11 targets.
In the fourth quarter, Herbert drove the Chargers to the Rams 17 yard line, but a catch by Gadsden on fourth and 8 was a yard short, and the Rams took over on downs.
Quarterbacks by the numbers
Stafford finished 17 of 25 passing for 157 yards with one touchdown and one interception for the Rams.
Herbert finished 24 of 32 passing for 257 yards with two interceptions for the Chargers. His second interception was his NFL leading 10th of the season.
What it means
The Rams improved to 4-4 and reached .500, winning back to back games for the first time this season. The Chargers fell to 0-7 and remain winless.
Next, the Rams are on the road to face the Commanders in Week 9, and the Chargers are at home to face the Texans next weekend, as reported by NBC Sports.
