The New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets 103-90 at Madison Square Garden on Monday, November 2, 2026. Brooklyn led by four entering the fourth quarter, then scored 11 points in the period as New York closed the game on a run and won its 15th straight game against the Nets. Landry Shamet led the Knicks with 22 points off a shooting night that turned a flat game late.

Brooklyn takes the third, and the lead

New York led early without pulling away. The Knicks took the first quarter 27-21 and led 51-44 at halftime. Brooklyn owned the third quarter, outscoring New York 35-24 behind Julius Randle, and carried a 79-75 lead into the fourth. It was Brooklyn's first lead over the Knicks entering a fourth quarter since January 2024, and for three quarters the Nets had the better of the game.

Randle led Brooklyn with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rookie Nolan Traore added 17 points and 4 assists. Brooklyn's problem was not the first three quarters. It was what happened when New York raised its defense in the fourth and the Nets stopped scoring altogether.

A 28-11 fourth quarter ends it

New York opened the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run and stretched it into a 16-2 run that flipped the game for good. The Knicks won the period 28-11. Brooklyn, which had scored 35 points in the third quarter, managed 11 in the fourth and never recovered the lead it had held minutes earlier.

Shamet did the scoring damage for New York. He finished with 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. OG Anunoby scored 18 points for the Knicks. New York's closing group defended the perimeter, forced Brooklyn into late shots and turned stops into the run that decided the game.

The win moved New York to 3-4. Brooklyn fell to 1-6, and the Nets leave the Garden with a familiar problem: three competitive quarters undone by one bad one, this time against the team that has now beaten them 15 times in a row.

Both teams play again on Wednesday, November 4. New York hosts the Chicago Bulls. Brooklyn hosts the Charlotte Hornets, still looking to turn long competitive stretches into a full game.
