Juventus Beat Lecce 2-0 as McKennie and Douglas Luiz Score in the First Half

Juventus beat Lecce 2-0 in Serie A Matchday 8 at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero, Via del Mare, in Lecce on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Weston McKennie opened the scoring in the 29th minute and Douglas Luiz added the second in the 41st minute. Both goals came in the first half, the second half finished goalless, and the final score was Lecce 0, Juventus 2.

The result was confirmed by two match records. The Sportradar match centre listed Juventus as the winner at 2-0, with a 2-0 first half and a 0-0 second half. The Elbotola match page recorded the same full time score of 0-2 and the same two scorers, McKennie at 29 minutes and Douglas Luiz at 41 minutes.

How the goals came

McKennie put Juventus ahead in the 29th minute, converting from a set piece to make it 1-0, according to the live report on the Juventus official website. Douglas Luiz made it 2-0 twelve minutes later. His shot was touched by the goalkeeper and struck the post before it crossed the line, and Juventus went into half time with the 2-0 lead they still held at the end.

The Sportradar player statistics credited Douglas Luiz with one goal and one assist, Federico Gatti with one assist, and McKennie with one goal. No further goals were recorded after half time, so the two first half finishes decided the match.

Lecce had the ball far less and no shot on target

The match statistics on Elbotola gave Juventus 68 percent of possession and Lecce 32 percent. Shots were level at four each, but shots on target were 2-0 in favour of Juventus, and Lecce finished the match without testing the goalkeeper once on the recorded figures. Corners were 1-0 to Juventus, and offsides were three for Juventus and one for Lecce.

Juventus lined up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with Guglielmo Vicario in goal and Bremer as captain. Lecce started in a 4-3-3 formation. The referee was Fabio Maresca, and kickoff was at 17:00 UTC.

A win after a thin run of league form

Juventus arrived in Lecce with five points from their previous five Serie A matches, a run of two draws, two defeats and one win recorded in the Football Italia liveblog preview of the match. The two goals in Lecce gave them a clean away win built on the first half, and they protected it through a second half that produced no goals at either end.
