Key points

The Winnipeg Jets beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-4 in overtime at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night, November 3, 2026. Dylan Samberg scored the winner at 3:30 of overtime against goaltender Jacob Fowler, finishing a comeback that had looked out of reach minutes earlier.

Winnipeg trailed 4-0 late in the third period. The Jets then scored four goals in 2 minutes 6 seconds and tied the game with 32 seconds left in regulation. It was the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history. The previous mark belonged to the Los Angeles Kings, who began erasing a four-goal deficit after 52 minutes 46 seconds of play in a game against the Dallas Stars on November 10, 2007. Winnipeg's comeback began 57 minutes 21 seconds into the game.

Four goals in 2 minutes 6 seconds

Tyrel Bauer started the run at 17:21 of the third period with his first NHL goal. Morgan Barron scored at 18:03 and cut the lead to 4-2. Kyle Connor then scored twice on one-timers with an extra attacker on the ice, 27 seconds apart, at 19:00 and 19:27.

The four goals in 2 minutes 6 seconds were also the fastest four goals in a game in Jets franchise history. The old franchise mark was four goals in 2 minutes 16 seconds on November 9, 1984.

What the win means

The win snapped a nine-game winless streak for Winnipeg, which had gone 0-7-2 during that run. It was the Jets' first win since October 13, and it lifted their record to 5-8-3. Montreal fell to 9-3-3 and lost for the first time in six games.

Cole Caufield scored twice for Montreal. Owen Beck and Josh Anderson also scored for the Canadiens, who held the 4-0 lead that Winnipeg erased in the final minutes.

Samberg's overtime goal gave Winnipeg all five of its goals in the closing stretch of the third period and overtime, in a game Montreal had controlled on the scoreboard until the last 2 minutes 39 seconds of regulation.

How the night turned

Montreal's four goals had put the game out of reach on the scoreboard for most of the night. Caufield scored two of them, and Beck and Anderson scored the others. Winnipeg did not score until Bauer's goal at 17:21 of the third period. From there, the order was Bauer, Barron, Connor and Connor again, all in a span of 2 minutes 6 seconds, before Samberg ended it in overtime.

The streak Winnipeg ended had lasted nine games. The Jets had not won since October 13, and their run over those nine games was 0-7-2. Montreal entered the finish on a run of its own, unbeaten in its previous six games before this loss, with a record that now stands at 9-3-3 after the defeat at home.
