Darryn Peterson had made two free throws with 50 seconds left to give Utah the lead, after a shooting foul by Trey Murphy III.
Missi leaves with a knee injury
New Orleans lost starting center Yves Missi in the second quarter. With 6:30 left in the quarter, Williamson drove to the basket and his shot was blocked by Hayes. Williamson fell into Missi's leg on the play. Missi injured his left knee, could not put weight on the leg, and had to be helped to the locker room. Pelicans coach Jamahl Mosley received a technical foul protesting the no-call on the play, after George hit a three-pointer at the other end. Missi had opened the season with 13 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in the loss to Indiana, and his status is now the main concern for a New Orleans team that is still looking for its first win.
