TSG Hoffenheim scored three times in the last 11 minutes to beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at the SNP Arena in Sinsheim on Sunday, a result built around substitute Andrej Kramaric, who scored the club's 1,000th Bundesliga goal and then set up the second.

A goalless first half in the rain

The first half finished scoreless in heavy rain. Adam Hlozek hit the post for Hoffenheim, and Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby was forced off through injury before the break. Leverkusen had more of the ball across the match, 59 percent to Hoffenheim's 41, but the home side carried the threat, finishing with 20 shots to 9 and 6 on target to 1.

Kramaric changes the match

The breakthrough came in the 79th minute. Edmond Tapsoba fouled Fisnik Asllani in an aerial duel in the box, a penalty was awarded after a VAR review, and Kramaric converted it. The goal was Hoffenheim's 1,000th in the Bundesliga, scored by a player who had started the match on the bench.

Kramaric turned provider in the 89th minute, setting up Alexander Prass for the second goal. Prass was then shown a yellow-red card for his goal celebration, a sour note on a night that still had one more goal in it. Max Moerstedt scored the third in the sixth minute of stoppage time, 90+6, to complete the scoring and give Hoffenheim their first Bundesliga clean sheet of the season.

What it does to the table

The win moves Hoffenheim up to 10th place with 9 points from seven matches on Matchday 7 of the 2026/27 season. Leverkusen stay fourth with 13 points from seven. The result also ends Leverkusen's five game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga, on a day when they were chasing a seventh successive win in all competitions and instead left Sinsheim without scoring, beaten by three goals that all arrived after the 78th minute.

A match in two parts

For 78 minutes this was a match Leverkusen controlled without hurting Hoffenheim, and the home side threatened without scoring. The numbers tell that split plainly: Leverkusen held 59 percent of the possession, yet Hoffenheim produced 20 shots to Leverkusen's 9 and put 6 of them on target against a single one for the visitors. Hlozek's shot against the post was the closest either side came before the break, and Diaby's first half injury cost Leverkusen one of their main outlets on the wing.

Once the penalty went in, the balance of the match changed completely. Hoffenheim scored with the momentum of the first goal still fresh, added a second ten minutes later through Prass, and closed the match out in stoppage time while also recording a first clean sheet of the league season. Three goals, a landmark strike from a substitute, a red card for a celebration and a shutout all arrived inside the final stretch of a match that had been goalless deep into the second half.
