Gen.G Sweep Invictus Gaming 3-0 in Worlds 2026 Semifinal to Reach First Final in Nine Years

Gen.G Esports defeated Invictus Gaming 3-0 on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in the semifinals of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. The sweep sends Gen.G to the final and ends the tournament for Invictus Gaming in the last four.

The final is Gen.G's first World Championship final in nine years, dating back to the organisation's era as Samsung Galaxy. It is also the first Worlds final appearance attempt for Kiin, Chovy and Duro.

Leaguepedia, the official-data League of Legends esports wiki, lists Invictus Gaming among the 3rd-4th place finishers at Worlds 2026 with US$400,000, confirming that IG were eliminated in the semifinals.

Game 1: Canyon sets the pace

Gen.G took the first game behind Canyon. Gen.G won fight after fight, took the Hextech Soul, and built a global gold lead near 10,000. They ended the game after Canyon's Qiyana ambush eliminated Rookie's Syndra during a Baron-buff push.

Game 2: A dive backfires

Gen.G also took Game 2. A bot-lane dive by JiaQi's Lucian and Meiko's Milio backfired when they failed to finish Ruler's Ashe and gave up two deaths. Gen.G later caught Lucian in mid lane and took Baron. The gold difference reached 10,000 around the 22-minute mark with an Ace in the third-dragon fight, and Gen.G sealed the game at the final dragon soul fight.

Game 3: IG lead 6-0, Gen.G come back

Invictus Gaming led early in Game 3. Meiko on Alistar chunked Gen.G's bottom duo at level 1. Wei counter-jungled on Naafiri, IG took the first Dragon, and a four-man top-lane dive opened a lead. The kill score reached 6-0 and the global gold lead passed 4,000. Rookie on Locke secured a double kill.

Gen.G came back by catching TheShy's Gnar at the cost of Duro's Nautilus. They denied an IG Dragon stack, then eliminated Gnar and Alistar near Baron and narrowed the gap, although Ruler's Yunara was taken down by Rookie's Locke burst.

The turn became a close. Gen.G stole a Dragon at the exact moment IG moved for it, cleaned up the IG champions and secured Baron. IG later took the Mountain Soul, but Duro's Nautilus dragged JiaQi's Ezreal in to open the final teamfight. Gen.G swept the kills and marched down mid to end the match and the series.
