Arsenal came from behind to draw 2-2 with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, as Declan Rice scored an 82nd minute equaliser in the biggest game of Champions League Matchday 3. The point kept Arsenal unbeaten in the league phase, but it came at a cost. Bukayo Saka limped off injured after only 10 minutes, and his fitness is now the club's main worry.

Eze answers the early blow

Saka pulled up while playing a crossfield pass, with no other player near him, and clutched his thigh before limping off. Eberechi Eze replaced him and took 15 minutes to make his mark. He ran onto a pass from Martin Odegaard and fired a low shot past Manuel Neuer. Officials first flagged the goal offside, then allowed it after a VAR check. Bayern answered 10 minutes later. Harry Kane played in Alphonso Davies, who beat David Raya to level the score at 1-1. Kane then put Bayern in front from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.

Rice has the last word

Arsenal pushed forward late, and the equaliser came from a move Rice started and finished. He played the ball into Viktor Gyokeres, who held off his defender and gave it back, and Rice ran on to score in the 82nd minute. The draw gives Arsenal seven points from three games, after wins in their first two league phase matches.

Madrid and Villa make it three from three

Real Madrid beat RB Leipzig 4-1 at the Bernabeu to keep their perfect start to the league phase. Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande scored in the second half as Madrid pulled away from the German side. Aston Villa also won a third straight game, beating Viking 3-1 at Villa Park. Ross Barkley headed the first goal, Emiliano Buendia scored a penalty, and Villa's Brazilian winger Alysson forced an own goal that made it 3-0. Peter Christiansen scored a late consolation for the Norwegian side.

Around the grounds

Club Brugge beat Lens 3-0 in Bruges, Inter beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in Milan, and Real Betis beat Feyenoord 1-0 in Seville. Galatasaray won 4-2 at Lille in one of the early games. In the other early match, Como beat Manchester United 4-1, with Nico Paz scoring twice for the Italian side.

What it means for Saka

Arsenal gave no clear update on Saka after the game. Reports from the stadium described a suspected muscle injury. Saka has started all seven of Arsenal's league games this season and scored three goals. Any long absence would hit both his club and England, whose manager Thomas Tuchel has dealt with the winger's fitness problems before. For now, Arsenal take the point from Munich and wait for news on their best winger.
