Bilibili Gaming swept Dplus KIA 3-0 in their League of Legends World Championship quarterfinal on Thursday, closing out the best-of-five series at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas without dropping a game. The result makes Bilibili Gaming the third team into the Worlds 2026 semifinals, after Gen.G and Invictus Gaming.
The loss was the first of the tournament for Dplus KIA. The Korean side reached the quarterfinals unbeaten, winning all three of their Swiss stage series, and arrived in Allen as one of the form teams of the event. They leave in 5th-8th place with US$300,000. Bilibili Gaming are guaranteed at least a 3rd-4th place finish and US$400,000.
Xun sets the tone in game one
Bilibili Gaming took control of the series in the opening game behind a carry performance from Xun on Naafiri. His side stacked three dragons, secured the Chemtech Soul and took Baron before closing the game out. The pattern held across the afternoon: Bilibili Gaming won the early fights, reached the major objectives first and forced Dplus KIA to play from behind.
Game three ends the argument
The final game turned before the lanes had settled. ShowMaker, playing Viktor, was ambushed before the laning phase began. A top lane dive by Lucid on Pantheon then backfired and handed Bin, on Jax, a double kill. Bin added back-to-back solo kills, and the series was slipping away from Dplus KIA.
Around the 23-minute mark, Dplus KIA contested the Mountain Soul and stole the dragon, their best moment of the game. It bought them nothing. They lost the fight that followed, gave up Baron, and the gold gap widened to more than 5,000. Bilibili Gaming marched into the base and sealed the sweep.
A semifinal return, and a familiar wait
The win sends Bilibili Gaming back to a Worlds semifinal for the first time since their second place finish at Worlds 2024. They missed the tournament entirely last year, which makes this run a return to the level the team reached two seasons ago.
Their semifinal opponent is not yet set. Bilibili Gaming will face the winner of the last quarterfinal, between Karmine Corp and T1. T1 are the team that beat Bilibili Gaming in the Worlds 2024 grand final, so a rematch is one of the two possible pairings.
For Dplus KIA, the 5th-8th place finish is still their best Worlds result in four years. They finished 5th-8th in 2022, 9th-11th in both 2023 and 2024, and failed to qualify in 2025. An unbeaten Swiss run raised hopes of a deeper finish this year, but the quarterfinal was their first defeat, and it was a heavy one.
